CHICAGO – This weekend in the NASCAR Cup Series returns to Chicago for the Chicago Street Race Grant Park 165 and oddsmakers are expecting an exciting and dominant finish in this one.
Sitting far ahead of the rest of the field on legal sports betting sites to win the race is the 32nd ranked driver in the Cup Series, Shane van Gisbergen. While his ranking is far from appealing to many, oddsmakers have good reason for listing him as such a heavy favorite to win.

The main reason behind NASCAR betting sites leaning so heavily on van Gisbergen is that this is not a normal NASCAR track. This is a street race style race with a winding course similar to the Viva Mexico 250 just three weeks ago in which van Gisbergen won as well.
Looking back to the race in Mexico, not only did van Gisbergen come out victorious, but he did so in dominant fashion having led the race for a whopping 60 laps and with a final winning margin of 16.567 seconds.
Outside of his winning margin and laps led, he had the fastest lap 18 times, won the stage 2 race, and the qualifying race as well.
Being that this is such a unique course and that van Gisbergen looked extremely comfortable in his win in Mexico, it’s hard not to back him to win one more time on a similar course.
