  • Alexander Zverev has (EVEN) odds to beat Lloyd Harris in straight sets.
  • Both Emma Raducanu and Belinda Bencic have yet to drop a set this tournament and have a total set with a (-120) betting line for UNDER 21.5.

NEW YORK – The quarterfinals for the US Open are set on both the men’s and women’s sides of the tournament. While half of the matches are played on Tuesday, the second half will take place on Wednesday.

Alexander Zverev (-700) Vs. Lloyd Harris (+475)

Alexander Zverev and Lloyd Harris will meet in the quarterfinals on Wednesday afternoon. Regulated sports betting sites have labeled Zverev as the heavy favorite in this matchup but Lloyd Harris has knocked out multiple seeded opponents already in this tournament.

Zverev has only dropped one set on his way through Sam Querrey, Albert Ramos-Vinolas, Jack Sock, and Jannik Sinner. Harris has beaten Karen Khachanov, Ernesto Escobedo, Denis Shapovalov, and Reilly Opelka on his way to the quarterfinals. Despite Harris’ success, tennis betting sites still favor an easy sweep for Zverev.

Set Betting Odds

Zverev 3-0 EVEN

Zverev 3-1 +235

Zverev 3-2 +500

Zverev is the No. 4 player in the world and while Harris has been good on his serve this season by winning 83% of his service games, Zverev has been even better with an 84% win rate. The real difference is their abilities on return as Zverev is winning 30% of his return games compared to Harris’ 18%.

Because of this, it’s hard to see Zverev being broken more than a time or two while Harris is bound to get broken a handful of times throughout the match. Betting on a (-700) favorite to win in straight sets should probably return less than what’s being offered by sportsbooks.

Emma Raducanu (+120) Vs. Belinda Bencic (-145)

Emma Raducanu has taken the US Open by storm after having to earn an entry through qualifying. She has yet to drop a set and has been dominating her opponents. The average score of Raducanu’s sets has been 6.0-1.875 thus far. However, she hasn’t played a seeded opponent yet.

Bencic has been dominant as well, also not having dropped a set up to this point. Bencic is known to have better wins in the form of Jessica Pegula and Iga Swiatek. Regardless of who takes home the win, sports betting sites are offering exploitable odds on the total.

Raducanu Vs. Bencic Total Odds

OVER 21.5 -110

UNDER 21.5 -120

Although there is a scenario where it’s not true, this is essentially betting on whether the match reaches a third set or not. If the game is split 6-1, 1-6, 6-1 either direction, the UNDER could still hit in three sets but it’s wildly unlikely.

Number of sets played

2 Sets -195

3 Sets +145

Using the number of sets played wager and comparing it to the total, there’s an easy way to find better value on whichever way a bettor thinks the match will go. If an individual believes it’ll go three sets, take the second bet as opposed to the total and vice versa for the opposite.
