LAS VEGAS – Arizona Cardinals rookie guard Chase Bisontis left Thursday’s 27-14 preseason win over the Las Vegas Raiders on a cart with a left knee injury that coach Mike LaFleur called “not good” afterward.
Carted Off At Allegiant Stadium
Bisontis went down on the first drive of the second half, was helped off the field and then rode a cart to the locker room. He did not return, and Arizona finished the game without him. LaFleur said Bisontis would undergo further testing and offered no read on the severity beyond those two words.
He had been gaining ground. Bisontis impressed in the Hall of Fame Game against the Carolina Panthers a week earlier and was closing on Isaiah Adams in the competition for the starting right guard spot, the job the Cardinals drafted him to challenge for.
Isaiah Adams Back In Front At Right Guard
With Bisontis’ status unresolved, Adams is again the clear leader at right guard, the job he started most of last season.
Arizona spent the 34th pick of the 2026 draft on Bisontis, a 6-foot-6, 314-pound lineman out of Texas A&M who started 23 games at left guard across his final two college seasons and earned third-team All-SEC honors as a junior. He signed a four-year rookie contract in May.
If he misses significant time, it will be the fourth straight preseason in which the Cardinals have lost an offensive line draft pick to a serious injury, following Jon Gaines, Christian Jones and Hayden Conner. Interior protection is the one area a rebuilding roster cannot solve in August, and free agency and the trade market are the only places left to look.
Carson Beck Sat Out With Sore Ribs
Rookie quarterback Carson Beck did not play against the Raiders. He took a sack in the Hall of Fame Game that left his ribs sore, and Beck said the discomfort lingered through the practice week and that he did not want to get hit again and make it worse.
That left Jacoby Brissett, Gardner Minshew II and Kedon Slovis to work the game. Arizona’s quarterbacks have combined to complete 50 of 59 passes for 514 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions across the two preseason games. That is a clean line off a soft sample, because preseason snaps come against defenses that are not game-planning and rosters that will not exist in September.
