PHILADELPHIA – The online Pennsylvania sports betting market is continuing to develop this week as FanDuel Sportsbook at Valley Forge Casino announced the soft launch of their statewide sports wagering app.
FanDuel Sportsbook’s online platform will undergo a three-day testing period starting on Monday, and if all goes well, the app will be available 24/7. Anyone that is 21 years old or older can register to use the app this week.
The official testing schedule is Monday, July 22 from 4 p.m. ET to 11:59 p.m. ET, Tuesday, July 23 from 2 p.m. ET to 11:59 p.m. ET, and Wednesday, July 24 from 12 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. ET.
FanDuel Sportsbook now joins three other PA sports betting apps that have launched this summer.
The others include SugarHouse Sportsbook, Rivers Sportsbook, and Parx Sportsbook. With their first full month of operation, online sportsbooks in Pennsylvania made up 40% of the overall handle in the state.
The introduction of FanDuel Sportsbook in Pennsylvania is expected to shake up the legal sports betting market in PA. FanDuel already operates an online sports betting app in New Jersey where they have established themselves as revenue leaders in 2019.
In NJ approximately 80% of all sports bets that are made are done so through mobile devices. With such a strong presence in an online-focused sports betting environment, FanDuel is expected to make their presence felt in the Keystone State.
