FedEx St. Jude Championship Betting Preview: Scottie Scheffler Favored
  • Scottie Scheffler is favored to win the FedEx St. Jude Championship with +275 odds.
  • Rory McIlroy is not playing in the tournament.
  • All other golfers have odds of +1400 odds or higher to win.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Heading into the FedEx St. Jude Championship, it’s basically Scottie Scheffler against the field, and there is one major implication that has led to the odds being set so far apart.

Scheffler leads the way with +275 odds on legal sports betting sites while every other golfer in the tournament is listed at +1400 odds to win or higher. The main reason for the massive gap between Scheffler and the field is certainly due to Rory McIlroy not playing.

2025 FedEx St. Jude Championship Odds

  • Scottie Scheffler +275
  • Xander Schauffele +1400
  • Justin Thomas +2200
  • Tommy Fleetwood +2200
  • Russell Henley +2500
  • Viktor Hovland +2500
  • Ludvig Aberg +2800
  • Matt Fitzpatrick +2800
  • Collin Morikawa +3000
  • Hideki Matsuyama +3000

Continue Leaning Scottie, Especially Without Rory

With Rory McIlroy opting to sit out of the FedEx St. Jude Championship to prioritize his rest, right now, before the tournament starts, is the right time to buy as low as possible on Scheffler to win at PGA betting sites.

It’s hard to really fade Scheffler at this point, being that he’s notched 11 straight top-10 finishes. Going into the first round of the playoffs, his resume is remarkable. He’s won four total events, which includes two majors at the PGA Championship and Open Championship. Scheffler is also the reigning FedEx St. Jude champion.

Just to show how strong Scheffler’s odds really are going into this one, these are his lowest pre tournament odds over his last six tournaments played in. The last time he opened under +275 odds to win was back in May at the Charles Schwab Challenge, where he had +250 odds to win.

As an example of why bettors should get in on his odds as soon as possible, in the Open Championship that he won, he went in with +500 odds and saw those drop to +210 after the first round, -175 after the second round, and -700 going into the final round.
