- International Gaming Technology has expanded its sports betting operation in North Dakota.
- The IGT PlaySports sportsbook will be launching in the Dakota Magic Casino and Hotel in Hankinson.
- The casino will host the IGT PlaySports platform, self-service betting kiosks, and trading advisory services.
HANKINSON, N.D. – Sports betting fans in North Dakota will be seeing a new sports betting experience with International Gaming Technology (IGT) partnering with the Dakota Nation Gaming Enterprise.
Through this partnership, IGT’s PlaySports sportsbook will be launching at the Dakota Magic Casino and Hotel in Hankinson.
Dakota Magic Casino is one of the largest tribal operations in ND, run by the Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate Tribe. Sports betting in North Dakota is moving to launch officially in 2021 and IGT is aiming to get an early foothold.
IGT Meets North Dakota
While a release date has yet to be set for the Dakota sports betting launch, the state is aiming for December. PlaySports at the Dakota Magic Casino and Hotel in Hankinson would be among the first to operate in the Flickertail State.

Sports betting in North Dakota will be run exclusively by the local tribes, with legislation for commercial sportsbooks still being debated.
In order for a sports betting company to operate in North Dakota, they would need to partner with the local Tribes to gain market access.
This is exactly the move IGT made with the Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate Tribe which will allow the sportsbook to launch in the newly formed legal sports betting market in North Dakota.
