While Russell Wilson is expected to have a great game against the Minnesota Vikings in Sunday Night Football, there are other great value picks for your DFS MVP.

  • Russell Wilson is the top-ranked player in Sunday Night Football.
  • Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins costs $14,500 on DFS sites.
  • DK Metcalf, the primary wide receiver for the Seattle Seahawks, costs $11,000.

SEATTLE—Ahead of Sunday Night Football’s showdown between the Seattle Seahawks and the Minnesota Vikings, daily fantasy football GM’s can begin creating their single-game lineups for the game.

With the single-game lineup for Sunday Night Football, GM’s are allowed to choose one player to be their MVP. What this means is that this player is going to earn 1.5 times the points that any other player would earn on daily fantasy football sites.

Being that Sunday Nights game is between the Seahawks and the Vikings, many might think that Russell Wilson is the clear choice for this slot. Sure, Wilson would offer great value, but, it is also very likely that many other participants in these single-game contests are also going to choose Wilson as their MVP which would lower his value at the spot.

It would be wise to choose a player on legal betting sites that may not be selected to the MVP slot on other teams which could prove to be valuable.

These are just suggested players for the MVP slot and should be changed around to the fantasy GM’s likings.

Kirk Cousins, QB, $14,500

This could be a bit of a stretch but Kirk Cousins could actually be in line for a big night against the Seahawks. Cousins and the Vikings are going up against arguably one of the worst defenses in the league in Seattle as they rank 31 in the NFL against opposing quarterbacks and 32 against opposing wide receivers. That being said, Cousins should have the ability to make big plays more often than never in this game.

Just to give an idea of just how bad this Seahawks defense is against opposing quarterbacks, they have allowed 1,634 yards and six touchdowns through just four weeks. They allowed 450 yards and two touchdowns in Week 1, 397 yards and a touchdown in Week 2, 472 yards and two touchdowns in Week 3 and 315 yards in Week 4. It also helps that he is overshadowed by Wilson as this sets him up to be very valuable here in Week 5.

Adam Thielen, WR, $12,500

Adam Thielen, like Cousins, could be in line for a monster game here as he is seen as Cousins go-to wide receiver. Thielen is coming off his best game of the season where he posted 10 targets, eight receptions, 114 yards and a touchdown against the 23 ranked Houston Texans defense. He has a “cupcake” matchup here with the Seahawks defense that ranks dead last against opposing wide receivers as mentioned before and is fully expected to take advantage of that.

Looking back at what the Seahawks have allowed to opposing teams top receivers, they allowed for Julio Jones to go for 157 yards in Week 1, Julian Edelman to go for 179 in Week 2, Michael Gallup to go for 138 and a touchdown in Week 4 and Devante Parker to go for 110 yards in Week 4. Thielen could very well reel in over 100 yards during Sunday Nights matchup and should be considered for the MVP slot.

DK Metcalf, WR, $11,000

DK Metcalf could very well be easily overlooked during Sunday Nights game but it is hard to overlook someone who has posted the second-most receiving yards (403) and three touchdowns through four weeks of the season. Metcalf has been the clear WR1 for Russell Wilson to throw to and he has not disappointed. He has brought in over 90 receiving yards in all four games this season which includes over 100 yards in his last two games.

That being said, Metcalf could very well be on his way to a third game in a row of 100+ receiving yards as the Vikings rank 29 against opposing wide receivers. They allowed Davante Adams to go for 156 yards and two touchdowns in Week 1, Mo Alie-Cox to go for 111 yards in Week 2, Kalif Raymond to get 118 yards in Week 3 and Will Fuller to get 108 yards and a touchdown in Week 4. With all that, Metcalf is expected to explode in Week 5.
