- Ben Griffin has the shortest odds to win the John Deere Classic at +1600
- Denny McCarthy has finished top 10 at the John Deere Classic for each of the last three years
SILVIS, Ill. – This week’s PGA Tour event is the John Deere Classic, which is set to take place on Independence Day weekend. Here are the leaders in the clubhouse for shortest odds to win the tournament.
2025 John Deere Classic Odds
- Ben Griffin +1600
- Denny McCarthy +2500
- Jason Day +2500
- Michael Thorbjornsen +2500
- Chris Kirk +3000
- Kevin Yu +3000
Legal sports betting sites give Ben Griffin the best chance to win the tournament at +1600 odds, followed by Denny McCarthy, Jason Day, and Michael Thorbjornsen, who each have +2500 odds.
Griffin is the most established golfer in the field, given the fact that many of the biggest names in the sport won’t be participating this weekend. He won the Charles Schwab Challenge in May as well as finishing second at the Memorial Tournament. He currently sits at #17 on the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR).
Longshot Favorites
Denny McCarthy is ranked 45th on the OWGR, but is tied for the second best odds in the field due to the fact that he has finished in the top 10 in each of the last three John Deere Classics. He also finished tied for 12th at the Travelers Championship in his most recent appearance, so McCarthy could look to carry some of that momentum into this weekend.
Jason Day has 13 career wins but has yet to earn his first tournament win in 2025. However, he finished fourth at the Travelers Championship just two weeks ago and finished 23rd at the John Deere Classic last year. Sitting at 28th on the OWGR, Day could look to make some noise this week.
Michael Thorbjornsen is one of the youngest players in the field at just 23 years of age and has yet to earn his first win of his career. He finished fourth place last week at the Rocket Classic and finished in second place at last year’s John Deere Classic, so he could be on the cusp of getting over the hump.
Chris Kirk finished tied for second place in last week’s Rocket Classic two weeks after finishing 12th at the US Open. He is currently ranked 62nd on the OWGR, moving up 26 spots after his impressive showing last weekend. The 40 year old is looking for his seventh career PGA Tour win.
Kevin Yu finished 25th at the Travelers Championship, but more notably has logged two top four finishes in his last five outings. He has finished 6th and 20th in his two appearances at the John Deere Classic as well. Yu has a solid chance to win the tournament outright and sits second overall on PGA’s John Deere Classic power rankings.
Overall, Thorbjornsen or Yu likely give the best value at their current odds. PGA Tour betting sites have been slow to account for their recent success.
