  • Rivers Casino Des Plaines opened a new sports bar in their gaming area.
  • The expansion is supposed to bring in a large amount of revenue from sports betting
  • Sports fans in Chicago are excited about the new expansion.

CHICAGORivers Casino Des Plaines, one of the main casinos owned by Churchill Downs Incorporated, opened a new 4,800 square foot BetRivers Sports Bar. The sports bar comes with an ultra HD video wall that spans 47 feet. Other viewing areas will be placed around the venue by the likes of 14 more televisions – 10 86-inch screens and a handful more 75-inch televisions – all of which are in HD, offering legal sports bettors several views of live games and events.

According to SBC Americas, the new sports bar is equipped with a full-service island bar that seats up to 32 people as well as 26 bar-top video poker games, 32 leather chairs for lounging, and additional table seating.

This space was built in order to provide luxury viewing experiences for Chicago sports fans looking for exciting game-day experiences and will in time, become home of the casino’s sportsbook – pending the Illinois Gaming Board’s licensing approval.

“The BetRivers SportsBar will provide an experience that rivals a live game-day stadium, said Corey Wise, the General Manager of Rivers Casino Des Plaines. “We will offer sports fans a premium luxury experience with great visuals, acoustics, service and comradery with fellow sports fans.”

Despite the expansion of the sports bar area, the casino will actually be adding more slots and tables games. This general project expansion developed into an increase of nearly 10 dozen slot machines and eight new table games.

Lotus cocktail lounge – in the middle of the casino – will also feature additional screens that can be viewed by many.

Professional and collegiate sports are huge in the state of Illinois because of the number of teams to bet on such as the Bears, Cubs, White Sox, Bulls, and Blackhawks. Legal sports betting in Illinois was approved earlier in 2019 but bettors will not have to wait much longer to bet on sports.
