Pro Golfer Brooks Koepka

  • Sportsbooks are asking sports bettors if pro golfer Brooks Koepka will caddy for Tom Brady and Phil Mickelson during The Match 4 tournament next month.
  • The heavily favored answer to the wager is that Koepka will not be caddying for the duo.
  • The Match 4 will be broadcast on July 6 with Tom Brady and Phil Mickelson taking on Aaron Rodgers and Bryson DeChambeau for the event.

BIG SKY, Mont. – The fourth edition of “The Match” will be taking place on July 6 and there is a bet on sportsbooks that famous pro golfer Brooks Koepka could caddy for the duo team of Tom Brady and Phil Mickelson.

Brady and Mickelson will be going head-to-head against Aaron Rodgers and Bryson DeChambeau.

The Wager

Online sportsbooks like Bovada have posted the question “Will Brooks Koepka Caddy For Phill Mickelson & Tom Brady?” with “Yes” coming in with odds of (+5000). Odds for “No” are not even posted to the site, which seems to make it clear that it’s the heavy favorite to occur.

Koepka has been a hugely successful pro golfer since beginning his career nine years ago. While it would be a gimmick to have him caddy for the two athletes, it’s probably not something of interest for Koepka. No matter how much of a draw it could bring the sport, it would be at the expense of Koepka himself.

From elite golfer to a caddy is likely not the direction the player envisions his career going, even if just for one charitable event.

The Match 4 Tournament

Tom Brady and Phil Mickelson will be the underdogs coming into this golf tournament. While Mickelson is a ringer for winning, the favorites by regulated U.S. sportsbooks have Rodgers and DeChambeau going into the tournament with odds of (-160). Brady and Mickelson have odds of (+140) to beat their competition.

Mickelson has won two of the last three “The Match” events. His most recent victory came when paired with Charles Barkley against Stephen Curry and Peyton Manning in November.

Curry and Manning were the favored team to win it in that matchup causing an upset for sports bettors and golf fans alike.

Regulated sports betting has now allowed for events like this to be opened with betting lines on their platforms. The tournament will take place on July 6 at 5:00 p.m. EST and will be broadcast by the TNT network.

It will be held at the Moonlight Basin in Big Sky, Montana which boasts an 8,000-yard course and a 7,500 elevation. All proceeds from “The Match” golf competitions are donated to a variety of charities.
