NEW YORK – Joe “Tiger King” Exotic is presently serving a 22-year prison sentence but is seeking a pardon from President Trump. Ironically enough, sports betting sites have released odds on this request.
Joe “Exotic” Maldonado-Passage recently made his claim to fame through the Netflix true-crime series, “Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness” documenting his life and its success with the public.
The series’ popularity is what has now given the Tiger King a voice for which he has chosen to sue various people while being incarcerated and ask President Donald Trump for a full pardon.
“This lawsuit has been filed in the name of Justice, The Trump Administration must be made aware of the Overreach, perjury, abuse of power and the failure to uphold the Oath of their position which is truth and Justice for all. The Agencies and its counterparts have abused the system for a private agenda. The Director Dan Ashe used his Government position to create an illegal monopoly with the AZA and shut down hard working American businesses for self gain. I have been illegally charged with these crimes and the Trump Administration, the United States Department of Interior along with the Federal Wildlife service must be held accountable for what they have done to me, my parents and my family, along with my animals,” read a statement by Exotic through his personal Facebook page.
The Suit
Maldonado-Passage is in jail after being convicted on 21 different counts in 2019 including hiring someone to kill CEO and founder of Big Cat Rescue, Carole Baskin. Not only is he requesting a pardon from President Trump, but he also wants $94 million from the US Fish and Wildlife Service and multiple individuals he worked with prior to his incarceration.
He maintains that the US Fish and Wildlife Service listed Tigers on the endangered species list as a ploy to rid all people of privately owning the animals.
Pardon Me?
“Will Joe “Tiger King” Exotic Receive A Presidential Pardon By January 20, 2021?” is the bet that is posted on legal sports betting sites. “No” is the most favorable answer to the question with odds of -1100. The answer “Yes” has odds of (+575). Bookmakers fall heavily on the side that the Tiger King will not receive his pardon by January 20, 2021.
The current issues happening in the world, as well as the 2020 Presidential Election, are factors that must be considered when betting on this wager as the request seems frivolous when compared to all that is happening on a global scale.
