WASHINGTON D.C.—Washington D.C. sports bettors are in for a huge treat when visiting Capital One Arena to cheer on their Washington Wizards and Washington Capitals. William Hill has officially opened their retail sportsbook inside of the arena.

This is huge news as William Hill has gone all out with their operations. The sportsbook will feature over 100 televisions, 20 betting windows, and 12 self-service betting kiosks. In addition to that, bettors can enjoy a meal and a drink as it will be a restaurant concept.

With the launch, bettors could potentially see a domino affect if all goes well as more and more states are beginning to regulate legal sports betting which could allow for them to open in-arena sportsbooks as well.

“This feels very natural to be in this building and to be able to walk into the arena and into a venue like this, to place bets, and I think you’re going to see this continue throughout the country,” said Tom Reeg, CEO of Caesars Entertainment.

The William Hill sportsbook will also feature a broadcast studio which will host Monumental Sports “By The Book” sports betting show.

“You look around this Sportsbook—It feels like day trading, right, for the millennial and Gen Z, very highly educated, highly compensated person that [can] come and buy season tickets — buy tickets for thousands of dollars — to now have a rooting interest in, to be able to come in and enjoy how all this data is presented. It’s very synergistic for the leagues and teams,” said Ted Leonsis, CEO of Monumental Sports.

This sportsbook launch in Capital One arena is just one of many other ventures that Caesars Entertainment has accomplished recently as they have inked partnerships with the Arizona Diamondbacks, the MLB as a whole to become their official gaming operator, and the NFL as well.

All in all, the new sportsbook takes Washington D.C. sports betting to all new heights in which they can continue to expand on.
