LARCHWOOD, Iowa – Popular UK-based bookmaker, Betfred, has launched mobile and online sports betting in Iowa at the Grand Falls Casino & Golf Resort.
Sports bettors must sign up for the mobile app at the physical casino. Once registered, however, the app can be accessed anywhere in the state.
The launch comes as Iowa reopens casinos and race tracks in an attempt to slowly fully reopen the Hawkeye State. Iowa has been shut down since March due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Betfred Mobile App In Iowa
Mobile sports betting has been regulated in the Hawkeye state since the launch of sports betting in 2019.
When launched, Betfred was one of the initial sportsbooks to strike a deal with regulators for the sake of sports betting in Iowa. The initial partnership was for Betfred to launch its sportsbook at the Elite Casino Resorts.
At the time, Betfred co-founder and CEO Fred Done expressed his excitement for the future of Betfred and Iowa’s relationship.

Now just one year later, Betfred is bringing its mobile betting component to another Iowa casino. This deal will allow sports bettors all over the state to partake in regulated sports betting without having to travel the casino once they have registered.
The timing for this launch coincides with many residents being stuck at home due to quarantine. Even with Iowa slowly reopening casinos, many residents feel safer staying in.
Iowa sports bettors may also not attend sporting events. But with major American sports leagues coming back into action this month, having a legal sports betting mobile app will be a convenient option for them and a more profitable option for Betfred.
