- The IEM Cologne 2026 Playoffs begin Thursday with Aurora (-145) vs BetBoom and Furia (-350) vs 9z.
- Friday’s matchups include Spirit (-360) vs G2 and Vitality (-310) vs Falcons in a loaded half of the bracket.
- Futures odds for the Cologne Major favor Vitality at +150 odds, but Furia’s favorable side of the bracket has them at the same odds as Vitality (-110) to reach the major final.
COLOGNE, Germany – The IEM Cologne 2026 Major playoff bracket is set, with quarterfinals action beginning on Thursday. The bracket shows a clear divide in difficulty to reach the final (World Ranking average 5.0 vs 10.25), but Thursday’s matchups begin with the “weaker” side of the bracket.
Aurora vs BetBoom Betting Lines
| Team | Spread | Odds to Win | Total Maps |
|---|---|---|---|
| Team AURORA | -1.5 (+200) | -145 | O2.5 (+100) |
| BB Team | +1.5 (-275) | +110 | U2.5 (-130) |
Veto Favors BetBoom Over Aurora, Odds Disagree
These teams have never played each other, but the veto alone makes BetBoom an intriguing underdog at +110 odds. BetBoom permaban Inferno, a map Aurora wins 71% of the time, while Aurora will have to stick with their Ancient permaban due to BetBoom’s 60%-win rate across 10 maps.
That opens the door for BetBoom to choose their most-picked map in Nuke, a map they win at a 67% clip across 15 maps compared to Aurora’s bleak 36%-win rate across 11 maps. BetBoom are 4-1 on Nuke at IEM Cologne, including a 13-2 stomping of GamerLegion and a 13-11 win over Falcons, with their lone blemish being a 11-13 loss to the world’s best in Vitality.
BetBoom plays Aurora’s favorite map picks in Dust 2 and Anubis well (73%- and 88%-win rate, respectively), which makes an Aurora Overpass selection likely considering the win rate advantage (67% (6 maps) vs 36% (11 maps)). The decider expects to be a neutrally favorable site like Dust 2 or Mirage, where both teams have confidence.
While most fans are focusing on other series, this best-of-three offers an exciting bet on Counter Strike with a veto that will shake up odds right before players enter the server. The +100 odds for this match to go three maps are valuable considering each team have a favorable map pick (Overpass for Aurora, Nuke for BetBoom) if they choose to take advantage.
Furia and 9z Clash In Rare South American Major Playoff Duel
9z made history as the first non-Brazilian team to make the Major playoffs after an impressive run, but now are massive underdogs against their South American counterpart in Brazil’s Furia. Oddsmakers are discounting a 9z squad that have put the world on notice in Cologne, defeating Vitality in a bo3 and nearly beating Spirit in a match that required overtime on all three maps.
Furia vs 9z Betting Lines
| Team | Spread | Odds to Win | Total Maps |
|---|---|---|---|
| FURIA Esports | -1.5 (+105) | -350 | O2.5 (+120) |
| 9Z Globant | +1.5 (-135) | +250 | U2.5 (-155) |
There are -135 legal sports betting favoring 9z to cover the 1.5-map spread, but the problem for 9z is that Furia are proficient in all of their favorite maps.
Both Furia and 9z have their three highest map win rates on Overpass, Inferno, and Nuke in that order, leaving more responsibility on individual skill that favors Furia. The Brazilian side are the top-rated team in Cologne (1.18 rating 3.0) compared to 9z’s 1.02 rating, and Furia have molodoy and YEKINDAR, who are two of six players with a 1.30 rating or higher for the event.
Furia are likely to emerge victorious in this one, but 9z are capable of taking a map like Overpass to force a third game in the series. 9z are 4-0 on Overpass in Cologne, featuring a 13-1 destruction of Parivision and a 16-12 gutsy win over No. 3 ranked Spirit.
Spirit Heavily Favored To Continue Dominance Over G2
Speaking of Spirit, they’re the biggest favorites of the quarterfinals with -375 odds to defeat G2. Spirit have won seven-consecutive maps against G2 and hold a 13-4 overall head-to-head record.
Spirit vs G2 Betting Lines
| Team | Spread | Odds to Win | Total Maps |
|---|---|---|---|
| Team Spirit | -1.5 (-105) | -375 | O2.5 (+125) |
| G2 Esports | +1.5 (-125) | +260 | U2.5 (-165) |
Aside from Donk averaging a 1.50 rating across the last three months, the biggest problem for G2 in this matchup is the map pool. Spirit ban Inferno, where G2 are 3-0 on in Cologne with wins over BIG Clan (13-3), Falcons (13-10) and most recently NaVi (16-14) to earn their spot in the playoffs.
Outside of Inferno, Spirit are simply better on G2’s logical pivots like Dust 2, Mirage, and Ancient. That leaves G2 with a likely pick of Overpass, where Spirit have posted a 40% win-rate across five maps.
Still, it’s hard to see Spirit failing to cash their -375 odds to win in this best-of-three with a favorable map pool and stronger form, even without a coach (sorry Jab Jabich).
Vitality/Falcons Round Out Quarterfinals
The best match of the quarterfinals lists Cologne Major favorites Vitality as large favorites (-310) over Falcons. The Falcons have been Vitality’s kryptonite this season, actually winning three-consecutive series against Vitality despite their historically-dominant season.
Vitality vs Falcons Betting Lines
| Team | Spread | Odds to Win | Total Maps |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vitality | -1.5 (+115) | -310 | O2.5 (+120) |
| Team Falcons | +1.5 (-150) | +225 | U2.5 (-155) |
Both head-to-head clashes between these two went all three maps, making the +120 odds for over 2.5 maps a bit surprising. One constant in the map pool has been Mirage, where Falcons are 2-0 over Vitality but are 3-5 on it with Karrigan as in-game leader.
Vitality have also dropped back-to-back maps on Dust 2, a map they had been historically dominant on before a recent decline in form. Falcons are certainly talented enough to receive a sprinkle at +225 odds on the moneyline, but this is Vitality at a major after all.
Who Will Win The Cologne Major?
Team Vitality are the unsurprising favorites to win the IEM Cologne Major 2026 at +150 odds, but Spirit (+220) and Furia (+350) aren’t too far behind. Vitality look to join Astralis as the only teams to ever win three consecutive Majors in Counter-Strike history, and would be the first to do so in CS2.
The Cathedral of Counter-Strike awaits.

The bracket certainly helps Furia’s chances at +350 after avoiding the other top contenders in Vitality, Spirit, and Falcons until a potential meeting in the grand finals. Meanwhile, Falcons (+900) would have to complete one of the toughest paths in major history, going through the best team ever in Vitality, before a likely meeting with one of the strongest players the game’s ever seen in Donk with Team Spirit.
IEM Cologne Major Winner Odds
- Team Vitality +150
- Team Spirit +220
- FURIA +350
- Falcons +900
- Aurora +1900
- BB Team +2500
- G2 Esports +3300
- 9z +3500
Of the underdogs, there’s some good cash out value with Aurora at +1900. They could take down BetBoom in the quarterfinals and then would play the winner of 9z and Furia, the former they already beat in Cologne and the latter who they beat in their last meeting at Blast Open Rotterdam in March.
IEM Cologne Major Odds To Reach Final
- Team Vitality -110
- FURIA -110
- Team Spirit +160
- Aurora +300
- BB Team +500
- Falcons +600
- 9z +600
- G2 Esports +1700
If Vitality make the final at -110 Esports betting odds, they’re going to be huge favorites over whoever they face. They have a tough run to get there, but Furia’s easier path at the same -110 odds is intriguing.
Map pool limitations for a best-of-five grand final explain why teams like BetBoom and 9z have much shorter odds to reach the final than to actually win it (+500 vs +2500, +600 vs +3500). There’s greater betting value for contenders like Spirit and Falcons on just betting them to win the Major outright.
