Both Scottie & McIlroy With Storied History In Scottish Open
Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy are no strangers to the Scottish Open and have found success in the tournament.
Scottie, the outright favorite, has never won the Scottish Open. He’s participated in it three prior times where he finished T12 in 2021, missed the cut in 2022, and T3 in 2023, his best finish. It’s also extremely hard to fade Scottie from a betting perspective at PGA betting sites as he’s already won three tournaments in 2025 and hasn’t finished below a the T8 mark.
As for Rory, he’s had better success than Scheffler with his recent appearances. Those include a win in 2023 at -15 and +850 pre-tournament odds, and a T4 finish last year in 2024. This shows his familiarity with the course as well. His win last year with +850 odds were the lowest winning odds over the last six years with the other five coming at +2000 or higher.
Going down the board to last year’s winner, Robert MacIntyre, he has the fourth shortest odds to win at +2200. MacIntyre won last year with a -7 and +4000 pre-tournament odds.
