  • The sportsbook will be a one-of-a-kind retail sportsbook at TPC Scottsdale.
  • The deal is in place with the expectations that Governor Doug Ducey will sign into effect the sports betting bill in Arizona.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – With sports betting expected to launch in Arizona soon, DraftKings and the PGA Tour have expanded their partnership, granting DraftKings market access in the Grand Canyon State.

With the market access, DraftKings will launch both a retail and mobile sportsbook in the state. The retail sportsbook will be a combined effort with the PGA Tour at TPC Scottsdale.

This will be a one-of-a-kind sportsbook, that will make PGA Tour betting experiences unique. The pair will be working closely with the City of Scottsdale as well as the Thunderbirds, hosts of the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

DraftKings Meets Arizona

Arizona sports betting fans will gain access to an exclusive sports betting experience once HB 2772 is officially signed into effect by Governor Doug Ducey.

Dubbed the “19th hole” experience, betting fans will be able to wager at a visually stunning venue with a strong focus on PGA Tour vetting in Scottsdale.

“When DraftKings became the first Official Betting Operator of the PGA TOUR last summer, a number of possibilities opened up to innovate together,” said Ezra Kucharz, chief business officer at DraftKings. “This momentous effort to pursue a first-of-its-kind sportsbook with the PGA TOUR is a testament to the vision of both organizations that we believe will ultimately benefit Arizona sports fans who want to legally bet on sports.”

DraftKings will be the official sports betting partner of the Waste Management Phoenix Open which is hosted annually at the TPC Scottsdale. This will create a unique live betting experience where the actual tournament will be taking place at the same venue where the sportsbook is.

There will also be a collaborative co-market effort pushed forth by both DraftKings and the PGA Tour. The collaboration will see DraftKings promote PGA Tour events throughout its mobile app and physical sportsbook and the PGA Tour will host DraftKings promotions during tournaments.

“The PGA TOUR commends the State of Arizona and Governor Ducey for their forward-thinking approach to legal sports betting,” said Norb Gambuzza, Senior Vice President of Media and Gaming at the PGA TOUR. “We are thrilled to work with DraftKings – along with the City of Scottsdale and the Thunderbirds – to explore a one-of-a-kind sportsbook experience at TPC Scottsdale and the world-class Waste Management Phoenix Open. ‘The People’s Open’ is one of the most attended events in golf and with this announcement we look forward to taking the fan experience to another level.”

Arizona betting fans will hopefully not be waiting long for the regulated sports betting market to launch, allowing the TPC Scottsdale DraftKings sportsbook to open.

Arizona is only a signature away from the official beginning of their local betting market.
