- Residents of Tennessee remain without a sportsbook to gamble on the Super Bowl.
- Neighboring states of Mississippi and Arkansas both offer sports betting options for Tennesseans.
- Plenty of options lie within these two states for the sports betting communities in the Volunteer State.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Mobile sports betting was legalized in Tennessee as of May of 2019 but residents still have nowhere to place their wagers on Super Bowl 54 in the state.
Lawmakers continue to drag their feet in launching a platform for bettors to make bets on sporting events with no timeline in sight but all hope is not lost. Tennesseans willing to take a drive have sportsbooks in Arkansas and Tunica to visit for their Super Bowl betting needs.
Arkansas Sportsbooks For The Volunteer State
The closest sports betting lounge from Memphis is at Southland Casino Racing in West Memphis, Arkansas. While they are not offering any promotions for the Super Bowl, they will be holding a “Big Game Watch Party”.
The party starts at 11 a.m. at this newly opened sportsbook and goes until 11 p.m. There will be food, drinks, and bets to be had while being able to view SB54 on their huge TV at the Sports Bar and Grill. Self-service kiosks are available 24/7 to take bets on the game.
Oakland Racing Casino Resort in Hot Springs is home to a sports wagering facility where NFL fans from Tennessee can visit to make bets on SB LIV. No specials are running for the Championship Game but patrons can experience a casino atmosphere while enjoying the game one of the many televisions at the facility. Bets can be taken from 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. at both teller windows and kiosks.
The Saracen Casino Resort Annex Sportsbook in Pine Bluff will be open for gamblers to bet on the Super Bowl. The actual casino is under construction until the Summer of 2020 but the annex is what is keeping this operation in business. There are no promotions for the Super Bowl but out of towners may visit the facility to get their bets in for the game.
Although, realistically speaking, only Southland Casino Racing will be a viable option for sports bettors in the greater Memphis area since it is only a 20-minute drive out from the city. The other locations would be a much farther and more inconvenient trip.
Five For Five At Tunica
Mississippi has five different Tunica locations for sports bettors to visit and wager on the game.
These establishments are the 1st Jackpot Casino Tunica, Fitzgerald’s Tunica, Gold Strike Tunica, Hollywood Casino Tunica, and Sam’s Town Tunica. All of these sportsbooks are fully equipped with televisions, beverages, food, and wagers for SB54.
They are currently not holding any promotions geared toward the game but that won’t stop the number of bets listed for it. Online sports betting is not allowed outside of casinos in Mississippi so sports bettors in Tennessee will have to be committed and go all the way out to place their bets in person.
Sports bettors from Tennessee and the Memphis area specifically have viable options to be able to wager on Super Bowl LIV with the use of Arkansas and Tunica sports wagering facilities. However, sports bettors everywhere else in the state don’t have that similar convenience and may turn to overseas online sportsbooks while they wait for state-regulated sportsbooks to launch.
NFL fans nationwide will be able to see the battle of the Kansas City Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers for a chance to take home the Lombardi Trophy. Super Bowl Sunday begins on February 2, at 5:30 p.m. CST.
