Donald and Melania Trump

  • Sportsbooks have odds posted on if Donald and Melania Trump will get divorced by January 1, 2021, and the odds for it to happen are only a slight underdog.
  • The two have been seen not being affectionate along with multiple books from close sources that believe there are problems in the marriage.
  • If Donald Trump does not win the Presidency in November that could boost the odds of a potential divorce by the beginning of next year.

WASHINGTON – Even though the U.S. is in the midst of a serious election, there are personal non-political bets being placed on the President of the US that would make anyone raise an eyebrow.

The relationship between President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump has been a topic of discussion for the last four years and the lack of public affection has always caused divorce rumors.

As these rumors of a probable break in the union between the two have constantly floated around, legal sports betting sites have posted the odds of a divorce happening within the next few months and the odds are tighter than one may think.

There are a few things that may be persuading political bettors to believe a divorce may come soon.

At the first presidential debate this year, many people noticed the greeting between the Trumps lacked affection especially compared to the greeting between Joe Biden and his wife.

This interaction, on such a national platform, only gave merit to the claims that have been written in books about their potentially failing relationship.

CNN correspondent Kate Bennett wrote a book entitled “Free Melania” in which she outlined the relationship and what may be the struggles in the marriage. Bennett discussed the 24 year age difference between them and the fact that, according to her, Trump has to have a woman to bend to his every need unconditionally.

Another book called “Unhinged: An Insider’s Account of the Trump White House” was written by a former political aide to the POTUS, Omarosa Manigault Newman, who wrote that the divorce may come once the President is out of office.

“If Melania were to try to pull the ultimate humiliation and leave him while he’s in office, he would find a way to punish her,” Newman wrote “In my opinion, Melania is counting every minute until he is out of the office and she can divorce him.”

Currently, President Trump (+125) is not favored to win the Presidential Election over Joe Biden in November making it more plausible for Newman’s prediction to come true by the start of 2021.
