Virtual tennis betting is on the rise due to the coronavirus pandemic.

  • The first ever virtual tennis sports betting platform has been created by ATP Media and IMG ARENA.
  • The companies have teamed up to allow this product to be made after the ATP Tour Masters 1000 was suspended due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

BOSTON – To help sportsbooks bridge the gap during the Coronavirus crisis, IMG ARENA and ATP Media have come together to offer virtual tennis after the ATP Tour Master 1000s April games were canceled.

Although both companies have been working with one another for quite some time, this will be their first joint venture into virtual sports products.

Since real sports have currently been suspended due to quarantines, products such as these allow sports bettors to continue to endeavor in some form of legal sports betting.

Tennis is just the latest in virtual sport to be offered by IMG ARENA. They already have cycling, football, golf, greyhound races, horse races, motorsports, and speedway races. The ATP Tour Masters 1000 is the most recent in tournament cancelations due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, it has led those in the sports betting industry to find new and innovative ways to engage their customers while the professional sports world is on hiatus.

“This is a landmark agreement for ATP Media at a challenging time. We are excited to be working with IMG ARENA to deliver fans around the world innovative content and new ways to enjoy their favorite tennis tournaments,” said Mark Webster, ATP Media CEO.

“Together we are creating a compelling, always-on product that will boost and diversify our sports betting offering, while helping to continue to further develop our international footprint.”

The new tennis product will have all of the technology of IMG ARENA offerings using the ATP brand for the 1000’s series. All of the proper information will be put into the platform for the tournament in order to make it as virtually realistic as possible for both fans and those used to betting on tennis.

This will be the first-ever such product for tennis that the world has seen and ATP Media is not the only company excited over the creation and launch of it. IMG ARENA is just as happy with the partnership that made this new gaming outlet.

“When we invested in virtual sports specialists Leap Gaming, our vision was to create official products and unlock new revenue streams and forms of fan engagement for our clients. ATP Media share this vision and desire to evolve the way that its fans could connect with tennis,” said Freddie Longe, Managing Director at IMG ARENA.

“The result is a game-changing product that maximizes player engagement and operator returns. As with all of our virtual sports offerings, we have developed the most realistic look, feel, and betting experience.”
